A friend warned me not to let my hands swing freely in Milan. “They’ll hand you food for the pigeons, and they won’t leave you alone until you pay.” I heeded her words and made it through safely, but did witness a victim of these mass winged gatherings.
It was absolutely disgusting in person, thinking about the hygiene, but in a photo it looks magical. I can see why someone would think it was worth it.
